rainy day... in More Ways Than One.

the toilet sink is busted. the window's seals are crap. the office floods. outside we have a liquid blizzard. a white malaysian christmas, cold, wet and gloomy. the perfect mood. as if on cue km directs me to coldplay.com, to "mince spies", which is this sublime rendition of "have yourself a merry little christmas". i send hy scorehunting. the piano is rubato with liberal 7's and m7's and dim7's. the rain hammers on against the panes. perfect mood.

...damn lax today.

i was at my aunt's place last night, looking at this beautiful painting. ok ok, it's a miniature picture of a painting, that my cousin had stuck up on his door a long, long, long, long, long time ago. it's one those things that u've become so used to, u don't even see it anymore.

i definitely remember more than once, getting an eerie deja vu looking at it. it's one of those evasive things that's been well, evading, me for years. but last night, something clicked. isn't... that... from... bosch?

so it is, so it is... don't rightly remember which of these pictures i encountered first, but either way, it's a puzzle solved. an unplaceable uneasiness finally laid to rest. and a very ironic realization: there's a homage to bosch on display in that very house i grew up in!

(incidentally, this was the same cousin who told me gnr's "use your illusion" cover was lifted from a raphael painting.)
